Ocean City, Maryland
Extending just over 9 miles, Ocean City begins at the southern inlet to the Delaware line and is known as the White Marlin Capitol of the World.
This community offers amusement parks, hotel/motels, shopping galore, apartments, Victorian-style architecture in residential communities and older city buildings, but also offers condominiums.
At the southern tip is Ocean City’s Boardwalk for shopping and entertainment like:
· Dolle's Salt Water Taffy, Chocolates, and Popcorn
· Thrasher’s French Fries
· The Atlantic Stand & Dumser's Dairyland
· Trimper’s Rides
Ocean City is historically known for both commerical and recreational fishing.
During the summer months, numerous charter and private boats can be found on the water fishing, pleasure boating, and for use in different watersports. Anglers can fish for billfish, wahoo, mako shark, tuna and other amazing game fish. The water here is filled with action for fisherman!
One of the biggest fishing tournaments in the world is held here annually, The White Marlin Open, in early August. Prize money is awarded for the largest Tuna, Blue Marlin, and White Marlin totaling over 1 million dollars.
Delaware Beach Towns
Fenwick Island is a cozy ocean-front town bordering Maryland on the peninsula.
Selbyville borders Fenwick Island and offers easy access to the beach and boating. This area has quickly grown with new, sought-after residential developments.
Bethany Beach, South Bethany, and Ocean View are all wonderful resort towns just north of Fenwick Island and south of the Indian River. These areas are commonly known as “the quiet resorts” and have continued to maintain their charm while also experiencing growth for year-round residents as well as seasonal visitors.
North of the Indian River inlet, Dewey Beach, Rehoboth Beach, and Lewes are all fabulous resort towns, each with their own character and attractions. These towns are part of Sussex County, which is the most southern county in the state of Delaware.
